Sandy Mermelstein
first excavated at Tel Dor in 1992 and returned for six more seasons.
She earned a B.A. in History from UCLA and taught for 26 years, excavating in the summers for fun, until she realized how much she loved the idea of studying archaeology.
She returned to school and is working on her masters degree in Archaeology at California State University, Northridge under the supervision of Dr. S. Rebecca Martin, Professors Michael Love and Catherine Costin.
Her research is on the production and trade of Hellenistic moldmade bowls found at Dor. She is also working on a catalogue of the moldmade bowls of area D4.
