Registration (Prof. Bloch-Smith group, the Hebrew University Rothberg International School Tel Dor Field School)
The season lasts five and 1/2 weeks from July 6 to August 12. The first half season is between July 6 and July 23. The second half is between July 25 and August 12. If your schedule does not permit any of these options, please enquire about other dates. The minimum available duration is two weeks.
Extensions beyond the period initially applied for may be possible, depending upon mutual agreement and availability of accommodations.
The cost for a full season is $3500;
the cost for a half season is $2200.
Discounts are available for students (particularly of archaeology and related disciplines), Dor returnees, and persons who can provide needed skills and services. Please write us if you think you might qualify.
Field School (optional, additional fees):
Earn 2 credits for a half-season excavation (July 6 - 23) or 4 credits for excavating the full season (July 6 - August 12) through the Hebrew University Rothberg International School, in a program administered by Dr. Bloch-Smith. Daily educational activities include instruction in archaeological field methods and theory, the processing and analysis of the material excavated each day, and afternoon lectures regarding various aspects of the archaeology, history, and specialized scientific studies of the site and the region.
